Overview: Our homeschooling expectations can make or break our joy and our success. Get a reality check from a veteran homeschool mom!
Did you ever expect something out of someone or out of a certain situation and get disappointed? Like expecting your husband to remember to bring you flowers for every major occasion? Or that your children would behave well in public? LOL!!! I know we've all been there, and when those expectations go unmet, it can be discouraging, embarrassing, or worse.
At the very least, expectations can be joy-killers, y'all. Because more often than not, at least for me, my expectations are way higher than reality. I know that has been true for my homeschooling life. While I wasn't exactly expecting the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, you might be surprised how close I came… :-)
Today I'm guest-posting on My Joy-Filled Life as part of a series called The ABC's of Homeschooling. My letter is X – for Expectations. (OK, I played with the English language there a little bit – you try coming up with a better word for X!)
I know that I started homeschooling, lo those many years ago, with many expectations that were just plain unrealistic. Join me at My Joy-Filled Life for a glimpse of what some of those were and how the reality turned out. Click here to go straight to the post: What are Your Expectations for Homeschooling? I bet you'll see yourself in some places. Surely I'm not the only one! :-)
