UGH, this is the worst thing, but we’ve all been there. If you haven’t yet, you will. Or you’re perfect. Or your teen is perfect. So you pick which one applies to you, LOL.
The scenario goes like this: you’re cruising along, thinking everything is wonderful and your teen is chugging along on schedule, and then in one way or another you find out that neither of these things are true. Everything is NOT wonderful, because your teen is NOT on schedule. In fact, they are a gazillion lessons behind.
This actually happened to me.
Maybe more than once.
But the one time that sticks in my brain is when I found out in May that one of my daughters hadn’t done math since January.
That one was on me, too, for not being diligent to REALLY check up on her, for taking her word about how she was doing, yada yada.
BUT STILL.
The blame and shame is not what these two podcast episodes are about. Instead, I focus on WHAT DO YOU DO NOW. How do you handle this huge hassle (alliteration is my friend) and get back on schedule so your teen is not stuck doing high school until kingdom come?
Listen to the podcast, my friend. Take 15 minutes of your day (or 30 minutes, if you do both episodes) and get some practical tips from one who has been there done that and lived to tell about it.
And BTW the teen lived, too, and is now employed as an accountant and studying for her CPA without procrastinating. Time for growth and maturity—and hard lessons learned while in the relative safety of the homeschool high school environment—can make a huge difference, hello. So hang in there! :-)
